Director of Business Development
Charlie Penner is an accomplished organizational and community leader who has been providing management and technical assistance to nonprofits, small businesses and local governments for over 30 years. His specialties include: business and strategic planning; financial management; and marketing and outreach.
Charlie has served on nonprofit Boards of Directors, including as Chair and Treasurer, as well as on various Advisory Boards. Among these are the Ann Arbor Ypsilanti Chamber, Think Local First, and the Washtenaw Workforce Development Board. In addition, he is an active volunteer for The Mankind Project, Circles Ypsilanti, Jewish Family Services, The Ark and Path 2 Spirit. Charlie has taught Nonprofit Management and Budgeting and Financial Management for Nonprofits at the graduate level and Entrepreneurship and Management at the under-graduate level.
Charlie has a Masters degree in Public and Private Management from Yale University and a Bachelors degree from Hampshire College. He is the proud father of two daughters.
